PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Facilities Project Specialist (FPS) is responsible for ensuring a high caliber of project management within the Facilities and Fleet Administration team. This position is expected to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality regarding all information.
The FPS is responsible for the formal coordination, implementation, execution, reporting, and completion of projects, ensuring consistency and compliance with Federal and State Building, Health & Safety, Environmental Regulations, Carter BloodCare (CBC) policies, and departmental goals and commitments. This position does not retain ownership of all completed assigned projects.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
Periodic travel between assigned work areas to meet project demands is required. Exempt employees are expected to maintain availability beyond standard business hours when business needs arise.
Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.
EDUCATION
- Associate’s Degree
- Certification in Facilities/Building/Construction Management or related field, preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of recent related experience in a facilities or construction setting
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Strong project management skills with expertise in scheduling, budgeting, and tracking projects
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, Ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
- Knowledge of Environmental Regulations and chemical handling awareness
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Strong knowledge of building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical) and facility safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and vendor management skills
- Ability to work independently and to proactively solve problems
