Position Summary

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site, day-to-day operations of multifamily new construction projects. This role holds primary responsibility for scheduling, coordination, and quality execution in the field. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to ensure each project runs smoothly, on schedule, and within budget.

REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 2 years of new ground construction experience, specifically in Multi-Family Construction

Further Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • OSHA certification (required)

Performance Objectives

  • Professionally represent ELITE Construction as the primary interface with Clients, Subcontractors, Architects, and Engineers.
  • Manage and coordinate daily construction operations.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Prepare reports for the ELITE team on project status.
  • Conduct and document weekly safety meetings with all trades.
  • Provide overall site management and team leadership.
  • Supervise all on-site trades and personnel.
  • Maintain clear communication with Project Managers regarding construction activities.
  • Work with Project Engineers to keep submittals and clarifications current.
  • Generate daily reports and photographic documentation of site progress.

Key Competencies

  • Proven working experience in a Superintendent role.
  • Knowledge of ground-up construction and renovations, from pre-construction through close-out.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, MEPs, take-offs, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Sage Construction, PlanSwift, Microsoft Office, and ConstructConnect.
  • Skilled in Construction Management, Estimating, Planning, and Reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to forecast budgets, maintain schedules, and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Experience mentoring assistant superintendents into future leaders.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move about active construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, stooping, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally (plans, tools, or materials).
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around standard construction site noise, dust, and environmental factors.
  • Ability to visually review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vest, steel-toe boots).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to project sites across Texas and surrounding states.
