Reports To: Director of Construction

Job Summary

The Construction Engineer at Finishes Solutions will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from concept to completion. This position ensures projects meet design specifications, safety standards, timelines, and budget requirements while maintaining strong collaboration with architects, contractors, and internal teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Design

Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Develop detailed project schedules and resource plans.

Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.

 

Construction Oversight

Supervise on-site activities to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for timely execution.

Resolve technical and logistical issues during construction.

 

Budget & Cost Control

Prepare and manage project budgets and cost estimates.

Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures.

Track progress against financial and operational targets.

 

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.

Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs and progress reports.

Conduct quality inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

 

Stakeholder Communication

Provide regular updates to leadership and project stakeholders.

Collaborate with internal teams on design changes and operational requirements.

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in construction engineering or project management.

Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM tools, and construction management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project).

Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

 

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Texas building codes and permitting processes.

Experience managing multi-site commercial projects.

Knowledge of sustainable construction practices.
