Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join their 24/7 specialty and emergency referral center. This advanced-care facility provides comprehensive emergency and specialty services for cats and dogs and is looking for an experienced emergency clinician who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment supported by a large multidisciplinary team.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time position within a hospital that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a 24/7 emergency and specialty facility, the role will involve working shifts that support continuous emergency coverage.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide comprehensive emergency care for canine and feline patients, including triage, diagnostics, medical management, and surgical intervention when required. Clinical responsibilities include emergency case work-ups, anesthesia, soft tissue surgery, pain management, hospitalization, intensive care, oxygen and transfusion therapy, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role requires close collaboration with specialty departments including cardiology, oncology, surgery, and internal medicine to ensure seamless patient care. This opportunity is open to experienced veterinarians with strong emergency medicine skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Practice Details
This 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostics and treatment technology including CT scans, ultrasound, echocardiography, digital radiology, endoscopy, laparoscopy, dual surgical suites, in-house laboratory, in-house pharmacy, isolation ward, intensive care unit, Tonopen, and advanced anesthetic capabilities including sevoflurane anesthesia. Services include emergency care, cardiology, oncology and chemotherapy, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, advanced dental care including root canals, internal medicine, urology, hospitalization, full diagnostics, preventive care, and pain management. The hospital operates with a Fear Free, compassion-driven approach and is supported by robust technical staff, allowing veterinarians to focus on clinical medicine.

Team
The hospital currently has 18 DVMs and a fantastic tenured support team, fostering a highly collaborative and well-supported emergency and specialty environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
