Appliance Technician

What You'll Do

The  Appliance Technician performs all repair and maintenance duties for PEAK rental appliances.  The Appliance Technician’s responsibilities include troubleshooting, using diagnostic tools, performing preventative maintenance, reading technical documents and schematics, and ensuring safety and operational efficiency. 

The Day-to-Day

• Examining equipment and identifying the cause of breakdowns.
• Conducting scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance on various LPG and electric appliances to ensure proper operation and longevity.
• Troubleshooting and fixing equipment malfunctions. 
• Keeping detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and causes of malfunctions.
• Providing repair estimates to management on damaged or malfunctioning equipment. 
• Repairing or replacing defective or damaged components.
• Pulling and packing of appliance rental orders.
• Maintaining an accurate record of  all costs to repair, replace, or maintain appliances.
• Adhering to OSHA safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. 

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills. 
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software experience is a plus. 
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• National Appliance Service Technician Certification is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills.
• Clear and professional communication with clients, managers, and other technicians. 
• The ability to use various hand and power tools.
• The ability to use various test equipment such as multimeters and leak detectors. 
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• The ability to lift heavy objects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills.
