The Executive Chef is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience for members and guests while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, creativity, consistency, and cost control.

This role leads all kitchen operations, including a la carte dining, events/banquets, and other special club functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a hospitality-focused, member-driven environment and understands the elevated service expectations of a private club setting.

Job Duties:

Culinary Leadership & Food Quality

  • Develop and execute seasonal, innovative menus for:
  • The Foundry Bar & Grille (casual bar & grille fare)
  • Member & occasional non-member events
  • Holiday and specialty functions
  • Maintain consistently high food quality, presentation, and flavor standards.
  • Ensure menus reflect current culinary trends while respecting member preferences.
  • Conduct regular tastings and quality reviews.
  • Standardize recipes and maintain accurate production records.

Kitchen Operations Management

  • Oversee all daily back-of-house operations.
  • Establish and enforce kitchen procedures, standards, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory control.

Financial Management

  • Control food, labor, and operating costs while maintaining quality.
  • Monitor and analyze food cost percentages and adjust as needed.
  • Negotiate with vendors to ensure quality products at competitive pricing.
  • Minimize waste through effective planning and inventory management.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Develop sous chefs and kitchen leaders.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
  • Create staff schedules based on business volume and labor targets.

Member Experience & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the General Manager and Food & Beverage Director to align culinary programs with club goals.
  • Interact with members to gather feedback and build relationships.
  • Participate in club events and special programming.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service.

Event & Tournament Execution

  • Lead culinary planning and execution for:
  • Major Member Golf Events (Member/Guests & Member/Members)
  • Non-Member Private Events
  • Monday Golf Outings
  • Holiday and other themed member events
  • Create custom menus tailored to event needs and budgets.
