Job Summary

The primary responsibilities for Iron Horse Golf Club Assistant Food and Beverage Manager include execution of banquet functions as well as acting as MOD in the Club’s dining facilities as scheduled when needed by the Food & Beverage Manager. Responsible for the daily operation of the food and beverage operation throughout the Club, to include hiring, training, and supervising staff.

The leader of this role must demonstrate a hard work ethic, diplomacy, common sense, and flexibility. Must be team-oriented and focus on attention to details when serving our members and their guests.

Responsibilities & Main Duties

  • Ensure that the department is operating in a professional and guest focused manner to exceed guest expectations ensuring the highest standards of service provided at all times.
  • Leads by example and develops, motivates and supervises the team by implementing and ensuring the highest standards are attained with the department through continuous training of all staff.
  • Ensures that staff follow’s health code and sanitation practices.
  • Handles concerns and complaints from customers in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Monitors staff attendance and makes necessary adjustments to staff's schedule when needed. Organizes staff breaks while ensuring great service.
  • Assists Food and Beverage Manager with banquet preparation and execution of banquets.
  • Ensures food and beverage orders are taken correctly and are served in a timely manner.
  • Manages daily dining room and bar operations.
  • Assigns staff tasks throughout the day to ensure daily operations and banquets run smoothly.
  • Trains new staff members.
  • Greets members with a warm & genuine welcome, using their last name.
  • Assists Food and Beverage Manager with inventory and scheduling.
  • Functions as manager on duty when the Food and Beverage Manager is not present.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, stooping, pulling and lifting.
  • Continuous standing, walking and repetitive actions for extended periods of time.
  • May work in a heat sensitive environment.
  • Must be able to work in both an indoor and outdoor environment.
  • Must be able to lift and balance large trays with plates and/or wine glasses/flutes.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Full time
  • 5 days a week
  • 8-10 hour shifts

Education & Experience

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years in the related food and beverage industry
  • At least 1 year of management/ leadership experience preferred
