Introduction
Our client is a mixed animal hospital in Midland, North Carolina, seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their team. With over 30 years of dedicated service to the community, the practice provides comprehensive medical and surgical care to animals of all sizes, including equine, companion animals, pocket pets, and exotics. This position is ideal for an experienced, compassionate veterinarian who is ready to grow into leadership or is already an experienced leader. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and is closed on weekends. This is a full-time position built around a four-day work week, with participation in a shared on-call rotation to support large animal and emergency needs. The structure allows for a balanced schedule while still ensuring continuity of care for the community.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As the Medical Director, you will provide high-quality veterinary care across a wide range of species while supporting the hospital's medical standards and clinical protocols. Your responsibilities will include surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, internal medicine, laser therapy, senior care, exotic pet medicine, and large animal services involving both equine and farm animals. In addition to clinical work, you will play an active role in mentoring veterinarians and support staff, contributing to medical decision-making, fostering a cohesive team culture, and helping shape practice-wide initiatives. This role is designed for an experienced DVM who is ready to step into greater leadership and influence, with mentorship available if required.

Practice Details
The hospital was originally built as an equine surgical and medical facility and has expanded over the years to include comprehensive companion animal services. The facility includes a state-of-the-art surgical suite with separate prep and recovery areas, monorail and sling capabilities for large animals, Sound Digital Radiology, a GE ultrasound, endoscopy systems, and full in-house diagnostic capabilities. Additional services include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, stem cell therapy, laser therapy, and comprehensive senior care. The practice combines a high standard of medical excellence with a supportive, growth-oriented culture focused on long-term team well-being.

The hospital is staffed by a team of 5 veterinarians with diverse clinical backgrounds and a dedicated, long-standing support team. The environment is collaborative, mentorship-driven, and centered around teamwork, communication, and high-quality patient care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
