Urgent Care Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a trusted referral and emergency hospital located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, currently seeking a full-time Urgent Care Veterinarian to join their team. This AAHA-accredited hospital delivers high-quality specialty and emergency services around the clock for cats and dogs across Northeast Pennsylvania.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year. This role offers full-time employment with flexible scheduling options tailored to suit different preferences, including 2-3 shifts per week, 5 on/10 off, or extended blocks of 10 shifts. Specific doctor hours will be determined in alignment with the chosen schedule.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This position is ideal for an experienced veterinarian confident in managing urgent but non-critical cases. Responsibilities include triaging and treating a variety of medical concerns requiring same-day attention, working closely with the emergency and specialty teams to ensure seamless patient care. The role emphasizes efficient diagnostics, timely decision-making, and strong communication with clients.

Practice Details
The hospital features a fully equipped diagnostic lab with multiple Idexx catalyst machines, a Procyte CBC analyzer, coagulation testing (PT/PTT), urinalysis, and Snap test reader. Imaging capabilities include digital radiography, a Philips HDX11 ultrasound, digital endoscopy, laparoscopic tools, and a CT scanner with fluoroscopy. As an AAHA-accredited facility, the practice adheres to the highest standards in veterinary medicine and provides a modern, fast-paced clinical environment.

Team
The team currently includes 8 DVMs and a strong support staff. The practice fosters a collaborative and dynamic work culture with a focus on professional growth, high-quality patient care, and long-term career satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
