Job Description


Pacific Landscape Management is looking for a motivated Arborist Grounds Crew team member to join our professional, safety-first team. The Arborist Grounds Crew role is a critical part of the team that provides high quality tree care services for our clients. They work side by side climbers and other crew members who perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Drives trucks with trailers, including daily safety inspection before and after operating
• Cut away dead and excess branches from trees, or clears branches using chainsaws, hooks and handsaws, shears, and clippers
• Hoists tools and equipment to tree trimmers, and lowers branches with ropes
• Cables, braces, ties, bolts, stakes, and guys trees and branches to provide support.
• Cleans, sharpens, and lubricates tools and equipment.
• Operate shredding and chipping equipment, and feeds limbs and brush into the machines.
• Collects debris and refuse from tree trimming and removal operations into piles, using shovels, rakes or other tools.
• Loads debris and refuse onto trucks to haul it away for disposal.
• Removes broken limbs from wires, using hooked extension poles.
• Operates loaders, stump chippers, brush chippers, tractors, power saws, trucks, sprayers, and other equipment and tools.
• Follows STC, OSHA and ANSI safety standards, and wears necessary PPE
• Maintains lines of communication throughout each project with all members of the crew
• Participate in weekly safety meetings
• Lead and mentor new and existing crew members, providing training and guidance to ensure high performance and adherence to company standards
• Other duties as assigned RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control
• Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety
• Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace
• Correct utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment
• Compliance with safety and quality regulations including wearing protective gear when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
• Valid WA driver’s License
• The ability to obtain TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional® within 3 months of hire
• The ability to obtain TCIA Certified Ground Operations® within 6 months of hire

Must be able to perform manual labor outdoors for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, and carrying.

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–75 pounds regularly, including tools, debris, and tree limbs.

Must have sufficient stamina to work 8–10 hours per day, often in varying weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, wind).

Must be able to operate hand and power tools safely, including chainsaws, wood chippers, trimmers, and pruners.

Must have good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools, tie knots, and perform rigging or load securing tasks safely.

Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor environmental hazards, such as pollen, dust, sawdust, insects, and uneven terrain.

Must be able to hear verbal instructions, warning signals, and equipment sounds while working on a busy job site.

Must be able to wear and safely use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, eye/ear protection, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and high-visibility clothing.

Duties must be performed in compliance with Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) safety standards and ANSI Z133 tree care safety standards.
