Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Technical Lab Operations (Chemistry, Hematology, ETC, POCT, BTS) in alignment with company's mission, vision, and values to meet business and customer objectives.
  • Advance customer satisfaction efforts for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with System Technical Directors to maintain high-quality standards and consistency across the organization.
  • Coach and mentor the Technical Services Leadership team to ensure effective frontline leadership and smooth daily operations.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, manage the Engagement Survey process, and address identified improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure accountability and consistent performance across all Lab Leadership roles.
  • Maintain clear, timely, and consistent communication using meetings, written updates, and other appropriate channels.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director-Lab Support and MVH Lab Leadership to ensure seamless patient care and efficient shift transitions.
  • Contribute to organizational initiatives through project involvement, sales support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Communicate departmental goals and champion efforts to achieve organizational performance metrics.
  • Participate in Management Team meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive staffing plan to ensure six-week rotating schedules, daily staffing levels, and work assignments meet service delivery needs.
  • Recruit, select, and onboard new employees; provide ongoing coaching, continuing education, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Set employee goals, address performance concerns, implement corrective actions when necessary, and document performance throughout the year.
  • Oversee training and professional development for the Technical Services Team, ensuring competency and maintaining required regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure Technical Services Leadership regularly reviews timekeeping data and submits accurate payroll records on schedule; provide guidance on managing department schedules and overtime.
  • Champion process improvement and continuous optimization to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Lead departmental quality assurance activities, including metric evaluations, workflow troubleshooting, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support budget planning and management by balancing cost efficiency, quality standards, and organizational priorities.
  • Develop and enforce compliance, ergonomic, and safety procedures consistent with company policies and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Create, revise, and implement technical and departmental procedures in alignment with the Quality Program and in compliance with CLIA and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure continuous readiness for regulatory inspections and accreditation reviews.
  • Maintain technical expertise and patient care competencies through ongoing self-development and practical application.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and current ASCP(MLT/MLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of chemistry or hematology experience.
  • Leadership in budget management, inspections, procedures and policy development.
  • Experience with lab safety and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
