Assistant Technical Director

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage Technical Laboratory Operations (including Chemistry, Hematology, POCT, BTS, etc.) in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and core values to achieve strategic and customer-focused objectives.
• Champion initiatives that improve satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with System Technical Directors to uphold excellence and ensure uniform practices across the system.
• Mentor and support the Technical Services Leadership team to strengthen frontline leadership and optimize daily lab operations.
• Foster employee engagement by leading the Engagement Survey process and addressing areas of concern.
• Promote consistent accountability and performance standards throughout the Lab Leadership team.
• Ensure effective communication within the team through regular meetings, written updates, and other communication tools.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Lab Support and MVH Lab Leadership to maintain continuity in patient care and smooth shift handovers.
• Contribute to broader organizational initiatives through project participation, sales support, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Share departmental objectives and encourage efforts to achieve key organizational performance indicators.
• Take part in management meetings, committees, and strategic initiatives within the company.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support overall organizational success.
• Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and current ASCP(MLT/MLS) certification required.
• 5-7 years of experience in chemistry and/or hematology; Blood Transfusion Services experience preferred, with proven success in increasing lab responsibilities.
• Demonstrated leadership in budget management, inspection readiness, procedure and policy development, lab safety, policy enforcement, and conflict resolution.
• Strong stress tolerance and ability to lead effectively in challenging situations.
