Grading Foreman

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prioritize daily and project-specific tasks according to established plans.
• Monitor and manage crew attendance and performance.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with Superintendents, Project Managers, Geotechnical Engineers, Inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Assign and oversee general and daily responsibilities to crew members.
• Supervise, mentor, and train workers and tradespeople.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and quality standards.
• Follow company and OSHA safety procedures; promptly report any safety or operational issues to management.
• Safely and efficiently supervise and operate machinery and equipment.
• Conduct daily maintenance, cleaning, and safety inspections of all assigned equipment.
• Identify and resolve issues as they arise to maintain workflow and productivity.
• Ensure operators and drivers perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment; report defects or repair needs to the shop. Maintain all vehicles and equipment in a clean, professional condition.

Required Experience:

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to perform manual labor as needed.
• Basic understanding of soil and base construction, and earthwork quality control testing methods.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet project deadlines.
• Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as dozers, skid steers, excavators, and track loader
• OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Grading Foreman.
• Proficiency with GPS grading systems.
• Extensive knowledge of construction processes, equipment operation, and OSHA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, plans, and grade stakes.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Availability to work 40-55 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required by project demands.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment (post-offer) drug screening.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 90 pounds.
• Must have strong visual acuity, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, at heights, and in environments with fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) and moderate to loud noise environments.
