Position: CNC Swiss Set-Up Operator

The CNC Swiss Set-Up Operator is responsible for setting up and running Tsugami and Hanwha Swiss machines to produce high-precision metal components in a job shop environment. This role involves daily set-ups, meeting production targets, and maintaining strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and run Swiss Tsugami and Hanwha machines to meet production set-up and run times.

  • Install tooling, adjust offsets, and edit programs for efficiency.

  • Select and set cutting tools, fixtures, clamps, and soft jaws.

  • Use precision measuring equipment to ensure all parts meet tight tolerances.

  • Interpret engineering prints, drawings, and sketches.

  • Inspect and verify the quality of your own work.

  • Train and mentor operators on equipment and processes.

  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience setting up Swiss machines.

  • Proficiency in setting up and programming Hanwha and Tsugami lathes.

  • Skilled in tooling selection, installation, and inspection.

  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-changeover environment.

  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
