The Position
The Community Engagement Manager, In-Kind Donations, works within a team-oriented and fast-paced environment. The team consists of talented, creative, and driven people who are focused on furthering the mission and values of the agency. This team contributes to the $85 million organizational budget by raising critical in-kind goods to support our families and individuals transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. The Community Engagement Manger, In-Kind Donations, is responsible for managing and supporting the In-Kind Donation team members while also fostering external relationships with community groups and corporations. This position ensures positive experiences for our in-kind donors, stewarding them towards long-term, on-going support of the agency.
What You'll Do
IN-KIND DONATIONS MANAGEMENT:
- Procure in-kind gifts through various channels, addressing budgetary shortfalls at LAFH.
- Supervise and refine in-kind donor engagement strategies and teamwork plans.
- Administer, record, and monitor all in-kind donations, totaling over $1.5 million annually.
- Cultivate relationships with individual, community, and corporate donors, facilitating their transition to monetary donors.
- Collaborate with program departments and DevCo teams to identify funding opportunities for program needs.
- Support In-Kind Donations Supervisor in scheduling, tracking, and maintaining records.
- Implement donor stewardship practices and recognition programs.
- Develop policies and standards for in-kind donations in coordination with the Director of Community Engagement.
- Maintain data integrity and compliance of in-kind donations in the agency's CRM System (Salesforce) as well as managing inventory system for tracking movement of goods and generating data reports.
- Manage and oversee the in-kind donation vehicle fleet in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
WAREHOUSE FUFILLMENT:
- Manage the integration of in-kind donated goods into the inventory of goods to be distributed to clients through a staff fulfillment process.
- Manage operations of Inventory warehouse, "Snoopy", through development or improvement of SOP's related to intake, fulfillment, distribution, and volunteer operations at Snoopy. Collaborate with the FMO team on coordinating access to the warehouse to designated staff and coordinating delivery of goods to multiple sites.
- Maintain inventory of available goods at "Snoopy" through inventory management practices. Support with keeping Snoopy stocked with goods through acquisition of in-kind donated goods and communicating needs to program liaisons to purchase goods.
- Enforce warehouse safety standards in collaboration with our risk team and coordinate with FMO for on-site maintenance, improvements, and training.
- Generate regular reports on stock levels, fulfillment rates, and site delivery metrics to inform procurement and program decisions.
COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT & REPRESENTATION:
- Represent LAFH at community and corporate events, promoting engagement and brand awareness.
- Assist the Communications team in content creation by capturing photos and stories during events.
STAFF MANAGEMENT:
- Communicate company goals, regulations, and deadlines to team members.
- Provide ongoing supervision, feedback, and coaching.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage HR submissions.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and ensure compliance.
OTHER:
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement.

Other
- Maintain and executes confidential information according to HIPAA standards
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Certification
- Able to pass a post offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
- Ability to lift up to 25Ibs
- Ability to bend, stand for prolonged periods and lift up donations items
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Physical Exam
- Comfortable working in a pet-friendly environment
- Travel is a regular duty for this position and is required 30% of the time
- Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License and auto insurance in good standing
- Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
Experience
- Three (3) years' experience in program coordination and management experience in charitable giving, ideally in fundraising or in-kind services. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in supply chain and logistics, communication, business administration, or related field with two (2) years of program management experience in charitable giving and/or in-kind services
- Experience with in-kind donation solicitation, service enterprise, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit program development, community resources, grassroots fundraising, or related fields
- Experience with receiving, fulfillment, and delivery of goods
- Experience in training and mentoring staff, students, volunteers, interns, or community members and corporate employees
