The Position

Under the supervision of the Coordinated Entry System (CES) Regional Systems Manager, the Faith Based Coordinator is responsible for coordinating efforts and acting as a liaison with faith-based organizations to provide leadership and support to systems alignment initiatives between faith-based communities and the CES. The coordinator is responsible for supporting and enhancing the connections between the faith-based organizations and CES service providers. This position requires creativity, organization, and an ability to use independent judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Creates and maintains an ongoing relationship with executive administration and program staff at faith-based organization (FBOs), collaboratives, and coalitions
  • Leads projects that test and implement new strategies that improve access to the CES and strengthen linkages with the faith-based communities
  • Oversees system pathways linking Faith Based Organization (FBO) referrals and services to interim and supportive housing resources
  • Participates in community forums regarding the intersection of homelessness and the faith-based community
  • Conducts presentations on CES to FBOs as needed
  • Supports SPA Regional Coordination and collaboration with FBOs to strengthen service delivery for homeless services in each region
  • Conducts overall strategic coordination, presentations, capacity building, training, and best practices technical assistance to existing and prospective CES Participating Agencies and Faith Based Organizations
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Interim Guidance, system components, best practices in homeless services, and regional resources.
  • Supports projects, pilots, and City and County strategies as necessary
  • Prepares periodic reports to track progress of strategic goals and evaluate work performed
  • Additional duties, projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

What You're Skilled At

  • Understanding of the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and its overarching goal of achieving "functional zero" as well as industry best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of issues facing people experiencing homelessness (e.g. chronic health, substance abuse, mental health, domestic abuse, resources for undocumented persons)
  • Knowledge of housing assistance programs and Public Housing Agencies including HACLA, DHS, MHSA, VASH, etc.
  • Tenant/landlord law and tenant/landlord relations
  • Ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively and analyze, evaluate and report on outcomes
  • High-level data management skills: competent, analytical, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills; strong follow-through
  • Ability to work with diverse community stakeholders, funders, and partner agencies
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to take a creative approach and

Other

  • Maintains and executes confidential information according to HIPAA standards
  • Obtains and maintains CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Ability to pass post-offer Tuberculosis (TB) clearances
  • Travel is a regular duty for this position and is required 30% of the time
  • Use of a personal vehicle to travel between worksites and other locations is required
  • Must have and maintain a valid California Driver's License and auto insurance in good standing
  • Ability to work a 9/80 work schedule

Experience

  • least one (1) year work history with relevant transferrable skills
