Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Concrete Specialist to lead and execute high-quality structural projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in setting foundations, engineered retaining walls, and high-end concrete decks. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of soil mechanics/drainage, and the ability to work with various finishing techniques to deliver durable, aesthetically pleasing results.

Core Responsibilities

• Foundation Work: Layout, forming, and pouring of residential or commercial foundations. Ensuring all work is square, level, and compliant with local building codes and blueprints.

• Retaining Walls: Designing and constructing structural retaining walls (poured-in-place or modular block). Managing critical drainage systems and backfill requirements to ensure long-term stability.

• Concrete Decks: Executing full-cycle deck builds, including sub-base preparation, reinforcement (rebar/mesh), and specialized finishes (stamped, broom, or polished).

• Site Management: Reading and interpreting blueprints/site plans, calculating material yields, and coordinating with ready-mix suppliers.

• Quality Control: Ensuring proper curing processes and troubleshooting potential issues like scaling, cracking, or drainage failures.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in structural concrete work with a portfolio of retaining walls and foundations.

• Structural Knowledge: Deep understanding of psi (pounds per square inch) requirements for different applications and the physics of lateral earth pressure for walls.

• Equipment Mastery: Proficiency with laser levels, transit levels, power trowels, and heavy machinery (skid steers/excavators) for site prep.

• Forming Expertise: Experience with various forming systems (Simons, plywood, or insulated concrete forms).
