Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking multiple skilled and compassionate Echocardiography Technologists to join our in-house cardiovascular team in Cookeville or Crossville, TN starting the Summer of 2026. This full-time role is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of heart conditions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality imaging and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain exams, and ensure patient comfort and safety
- Acquire accurate, high-quality cardiac images and measurements
- Recognize and document abnormal findings and communicate critical results to the interpreting physician
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards
- Accurately document procedures and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field
- Completion of appropriate registry and credentialing must be obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) agencies within 90 days of hire. Sonographers must be credentialed for the specific field of study for the testing they perform
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
- Previous experience in cardiac echocardiography preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiographic techniques
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Applicants with prior supervisory experience may be considered for a “lead” role for this team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
- Manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment
- Ability to lift and move equipment and assist patients as needed
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, weekday schedule
- Multiple roles available in both clinical settings in Cookeville or Crossville, TN
