Mammography Technologist

The Outpatient Mammography Technologist performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with physician orders, regulatory requirements, and departmental standards. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while delivering exceptional customer service in an outpatient imaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures following established protocols and physician orders
• Operate and maintain mammography equipment in compliance with MQSA, FDA, and ACR standards
• Ensure accurate patient identification, exam preparation, positioning, and image acquisition
• Provide compassionate patient care, education, and emotional support throughout the imaging process
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and imaging systems
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure timely interpretation and follow-up
• Monitor image quality and participate in quality assurance and quality control activities
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Assist with scheduling, workflow coordination, and patient throughput as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) through ARRT
• ARRT Mammography Certification (M)
• Current state licensure (as required)
• Current BLS certification

Preferred:

• One (1) year of mammography experience, preferably in an outpatient setting

License/Certification:

• ARRT Certification/Mammography Licensure Required (Required)
