We're currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Inspector located in Baltimore, MD .

Position Overview:

The Electrical Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting electrical construction activities associated with terminal development, airfield systems, and related airport infrastructure projects. This role supports the Construction Management and Inspection team by ensuring that electrical systems are installed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, and project quality standards.

The Electrical Inspector will work closely with the Project Manager, Resident Engineer, contractors, and design consultants to verify that electrical systems are properly installed and compliant with project requirements, safety regulations, and applicable electrical codes. The position requires strong experience in electrical inspection within complex facilities such as commercial airports or large industrial construction environments.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma

Required Certifications:

Inspection staff assigned to this role must possess at least one of the following credentials

  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Master Electrician License
  • NICET Level 3 or higher certification in the relevant electrical inspection field
  • International Code Council certification in the relevant electrical inspection field
  • Other recognized electrical inspection certification relevant to the project scope

Required Qualifications:

In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Electrical Inspector at a medium to large commercial airport or large industrial facility.
  • Experience inspecting electrical systems associated with terminal facilities, infrastructure improvements, and building systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and system diagrams.
  • The Electrical Inspector shall be listed on the State Fire Marshal's list as an approved non governmental Electrical Inspector.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with approved construction documents, electrical codes, and project specifications.
  • Monitor installation of electrical systems including power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, lighting systems, grounding systems, emergency power systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Verify that electrical materials and equipment conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
  • Inspect installation of conduit systems, cable trays, electrical feeders, branch circuits, and electrical panels.
  • Observe installation and testing of electrical equipment including switchgear, generators, transformers, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ensure that electrical work complies with National Electrical Code requirements and applicable local and state regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and Construction Management team to identify deficiencies, nonconforming work, or potential electrical system issues.
  • Observe testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems including power distribution systems, lighting controls, and backup power systems.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings and technical coordination meetings as required.
  • Document inspection activities through daily reports, inspection logs, and photographic records.
  • Assist in punch list inspections and final acceptance of electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of electrical inspection activities to support project quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Salary:

43.55/hr

Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
