Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas including runways, taxiways, and security gates. Work involves technical application of electrical principles. This is a fully seasoned skilled level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the discipline.
Maintains runway and taxiway lights; troubleshoots to identify the problem and repair as needed. Inspect and make repairs to taxiway lights and signs that are powered by 2400 volts and current transformers.
Performs emergency repairs to runway lights and signs when required.
Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
Constructs and maintains service equipment.
Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommends purchases and suppliers.
Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
Sets poles, strings overhead lines and does overhead line maintenance.
Supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the employee' s work time; duties include assigning and reviewing work to other staff.
Minimum Quali? Cations Education and Experience
Seven years electrical experience and Class II Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License and or IBEW Journey s Card
Valid Driver s License
Preferred Education & Experience
Associate s degree with a course of study in Electrical Construction and Maintenance or similar area or 10 years of related experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance.
