Position Summary

The Commercial Plumber Apprentice is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on training and development under the supervision of experienced plumbers. The apprentice will assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial plumbing systems while learning industry standards, safety practices, and code compliance. This role is ideal for individuals seeking a career in commercial plumbing with structured mentorship and on-the-job experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist journeyman and lead plumbers with installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial plumbing systems

  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

  • Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for job assignments

  • Assist with pipe cutting, fitting, threading, and assembly

  • Participate in system testing, troubleshooting, and inspections under supervision

  • Follow safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

  • Document work performed and materials used under guidance of supervisor

  • Attend training sessions and complete required classroom or online apprenticeship coursework

  • Learn proper customer service and communication skills when interacting with clients

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid drivers license

  • Interest in pursuing a career in commercial plumbing

  • Basic understanding of tools, materials, and mechanical systems preferred

  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions (lifting, climbing, confined spaces)

  • Strong willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • OSHA safety training or willingness to obtain certification
