Based on established brand and communications strategies, this role will lead the execution of the Industrial Wood Divisions digital marketing initiatives to engage target audiences and drive business growth. The Assistant Marketing Communications Manager will focus on planning, creating, and managing customer email campaigns, website content updates, and social media programs to support Sherwin-Williams Industrial Wood direct and distribution brands in North America. This position will ensure digital content aligns with brand standards, delivers a consistent customer experience, and supports division sales and share growth goals. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing digital assets, monitoring performance analytics, and supporting broader marketing communications activities as needed.

This is not a remote/hybrid position and location will be based in the new Cleveland HQ with in-office attendance 5 days/week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist on implementation of the Industrial Wood Divisions Integrated Marketing Plan campaigns, programs and tactics.
  • Manage digital programs for all brands including marketing automation, website management and social campaigns, etc.
  • Coordinate projects, requests and clearly communicate strategy, timeline and budgets for those projects to North America Marketing Team, Marketing Operations, Creative Services and Digital teams.
  • Work with Brand Managers and Marketing Communications Manager to develop external email and social media content that aligns with business goals, including the creation of demo videos, product literature, color trends, and other support pieces as needed.
  • Drive content placements on social media accounts, coordinating with Marketing Communications Manager on scheduling and best practices for growth.
  • Develop and lead email and social media editorial calendars
  • Drive e-blast announcements and campaigns through end user and distribution databases to generate and track lead generation.
  • Partner with Digital Services team to update and implement both internally managed and third-party managed website and microsite design best practices with SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings, increase website traffic and enhance user engagement
  • Oversee end-to-end web publishing in AEM for all brands North American websites, including layout design, component configuration, and quality assurance for cross-device compatibility
  • Collaborate with digital and creative services teams to develop successful demand and lead generation campaigns throughout the year, including product launches, segment nurture, and color and design campaigns.
  • Understand measurement of campaign effectiveness and report to leadership and to peers in formal debrief sessions.
  • Collaborate with regional teams in EMEAI and Asia on content sharing.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Wood Brand Management team and Creative Services team to establish and maintain brand guidelines.
  • Lead design, implementation and maintenance of the Industrial Wood North America and Distribution SharePoint sites to ensure all content is managed, organized and easily accessible to the Industrial Wood selling organizations and stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating ongoing communications to field sales including emails, newsletters, webinars, videos, and training materials to ensure all areas of the business feel well informed.
  • Maintain digital assets for Industrial Wood through AEM digital asset management portal or Widen.
  • Focus on IWD SharePoint Site and Monthly Newsletters

FORMAL EDUCATION

Required:

  • 4-year degree related to Business, Sales, Marketing or Management

Preferred:

  • Masters degree

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 5+ years of integrated marketing communications experience
  • Highly organized & detail-oriented - skilled in managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Adept at collaborating with diverse teams to achieve project goals
  • Highly proficient in key Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Familiarity with maintaining critical marketing communications processes and platforms (website, marketing automation, social media, etc.)
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Thrives in highly matrixed environment
  • Demand generation experience experience with Marketo and Salesforce preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (authoring, components and DAM workflows) preferred
