Electrical Controls Design Engineer

Actalent Services is currently hiring a Controls Design Engineer for an Automation Solutions provider in the Greater Columbus Area. This company provides custom automation, repeat automation and a variety of automation products for the following industries: life sciences, food & beverage, transportation, consumer products, and energy. Responsibilities:- Designs and develops complete systems schematics and electrical specifications for the manufacture and installation of factory automation projects. Determines design approaches and parameters. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability by exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.Formulate and produce complete electrical schematics including power distribution; motor control; safety; PLC, PC and/or robot I/O; analog I/O; fuse and wire sizing; and detail panel layouts.Determine components and issue requisitions for purchases by analyzing equipment to establish operating data, conducting experimental tests and evaluating results.Integrates (off-the-shelf) equipment and electronic components into systems including: network and serial communications, motion control equipment, analog instrumentation, vision inspection systems, electrical and ultrasonic welding equipment and other electrically controlled systems.Works with Systems programmers to define the best sequencing, safety, HMI and overall process into a software structure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
