Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MIG Welder to join our manufacturing and construction team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in welding various materials, primarily utilizing Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding techniques, to produce high-quality fabrications that meet strict safety and quality standards. This role involves working on diverse projects. The successful applicant will demonstrate mechanical aptitude, precision, and a strong understanding of blueprint reading and fabrication processes to support our ongoing projects.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, and other metals, adhering to project specifications and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute welds.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and plasma cutters to prepare materials for welding and fabrication.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy.
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, assembly, rigging, and mechanical assembly of components.
- Follow ASME codes & standards for welding practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations at all times.
- Participate in the setup of welding stations and maintain equipment including plasma cutters and MIG welders.
- Collaborate with team members on construction sites or manufacturing facilities to complete projects efficiently.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience with a focus on structural steel fabrication or ductwork installation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with MIG welding; familiarity.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to metal fabrication.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Experience working with ASME codes & standards for welding procedures.
- Ability to operate rigging equipment such as cranes or forklifts safely within a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, machining processes, soldering, and assembly techniques.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring precision craftsmanship.
