We're hiring a licensed Pharmacist for a contract position in Tucson, AZ at a hospital setting. You will use clinical expertise to ensure the safe and accurate distribution of medications to patients across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include collaboration with physicians on drug selection and dosing, education of nursing staff and patients, medication safety initiatives, preparation of IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, narcotic accountability, maintenance of patient profiles, and reporting adverse drug reactions. Practice must follow state and federal law, DEA regulations, The Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Arizona Pharmacist License required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient acute hospital pharmacy experience required.
  • Experience with IV admixtures, narcotic accountability, medication safety initiatives, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical record preferred.
  • Board certification and/or completion of an accredited pharmacy residency preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board certified pharmacist or completion of accredited pharmacy residency preferred.
  • Prior experience in 24-hour or holiday pharmacy operations preferred.

Assignment Details

  • Shift Hours: 2000 - 0700.
  • Schedule Pattern: 7 nights on / 7 nights off.
  • Workdays: Wednesday through Tuesday during scheduled rotation.
  • No on-call requirement.
  • Hospital inpatient acute care setting with a 44-bed unit.
