2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer for our 2nd shift. The successful candidate will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair company equipment, including production equipment, warehouse bay doors, electrical systems, and heating and cooling systems, following established company standards. You will perform preventative maintenance and changeovers on production line equipment to minimize downtime. Adherence to company policies, safety requirements, and established procedures is essential. This role involves maintaining clean work areas and organizing the maintenance shop, ordering parts, and maintaining inventory. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with company equipment and repair according to standards. Perform preventative maintenance on company equipment following established guidelines. Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and wear necessary personal protective equipment. Perform changeovers on production line equipment to reduce downtime. Communicate with co-workers and internal customers about repair status and needs. Complete preventative maintenance records and other required paperwork. Exhibit regular and predictable attendance, and work overtime as needed. Order parts and maintain parts inventory. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop. Essential Skills Experience with electrical systems up to 480V. Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motor repair, and gearboxes. Industrial maintenance experience or an Associate's/Trade School degree. Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems. Experience with maintenance, conveyor systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in bottling and plastics. Knowledge of Ladder Logic, VFD, and motors. Experience with filling equipment. Why Work Here? The facility includes a brand new Blow Mold Facility requiring work in both areas, which are separated by a large parking lot, necessitating walking in various weather conditions. The facility is climate-controlled, clean, and well-maintained, requiring specific attire such as hair and beard nets in food-grade areas. Scheduled work hours are 11 pm-7:30 am, with opportunities for advancement based on performance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
