Emergency Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their hybrid general practice and emergency/ICU facility providing care for companion animals as well as avian and exotic pets. This role is ideal for an experienced emergency veterinarian who is comfortable managing a diverse caseload that includes exotic species.

Working Hours / Rota
The position offers full-time or part-time flexibility. The hospital operates seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, including weekends. The Day Time Emergency Veterinarian will work within these daytime hours as part of a flexible scheduling structure designed to support work-life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage urgent and emergency cases while working within a hybrid GP and emergency/ICU environment. Responsibilities include performing thorough examinations, diagnosing and treating acute medical conditions, stabilizing emergency cases, and performing procedures as needed. The role requires strong clinical decision-making, collaboration with technicians and fellow veterinarians, and clear communication with clients during high-pressure situations. The hospital also sees avian and exotic species, so comfort with treating these patients is important. This position is open to experienced veterinarians.

The hospital operates from a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced diagnostic tools designed to support high-quality emergency and general practice medicine. The practice provides a wide range of services including Vaccinations & Prevention, Routine Exams, Dental Care, Acupuncture, Puppy & Kitten Care, Geriatric Care, General Practice Surgery, and Avian & Exotic Pet Care. The facility supports efficient workflow and high-quality treatment through modern equipment and a strong technical support structure, allowing veterinarians to focus on patient care.

Team
The hospital is supported by 7 DVMs and a great tenured support team, with a 2-3 technician-to-doctor ratio that enables efficient case management and strong collaboration across the clinical team.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
