Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their dedicated team. The hospital provides full-service veterinary care, including wellness, medical, surgical, and dental services, and also offers urgent and emergency care. This opportunity is suited to an experienced veterinarian looking to step into leadership, though all levels of experience will be considered.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm, Thursday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, with no Sunday hours. The role is available on a full-time basis and includes a balance of clinical and leadership responsibilities.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will dedicate approximately 80-90% of their time to clinical work, providing wellness care, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, urgent and emergency services, dermatology, acupuncture, and internal medicine. The remaining 10-20% of the role will focus on leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and coaching the veterinary team, overseeing clinical protocols, participating in recruitment and performance management, and guiding the hospital's medical and strategic direction. This position offers the opportunity to shape the practice's services, support professional development, and foster a collaborative, progressive culture. The role is open to experienced veterinarians.

Practice Details
The hospital operates from a modern 6,500-square-foot facility equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, advanced diagnostic tools, and a dedicated surgical suite. The team utilizes Fear Free methods to reduce patient stress and improve client experience. The practice is AAHA accredited, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care. Services include wellness and preventative care, surgery, dental care, dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, diagnostics, acupuncture, and comprehensive laboratory testing, both in-house and through external labs.

Team
The hospital is home to a team of four veterinarians supported by a skilled practice manager, technicians, and support staff. The environment is collaborative, compassionate, and client-focused, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, teamwork, and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
