Introduction
Our client is a small animal hospital providing care for cats and dogs, and they are hiring for a Lead Veterinarian to oversee clinical operations and guide the team. The hospital offers a broad range of primary care services and is looking for an experienced veterinarian who can confidently lead the practice and work independently while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time veterinarian position. The hospital is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The practice is closed every Wednesday and Sunday, with alternating closures on Thursdays and Saturdays. The schedule will be aligned with the hospital's opening hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will be responsible for leading the clinical team while delivering high-quality veterinary care. Responsibilities include overseeing daily medical operations, performing routine and advanced veterinary procedures, and supporting the wider team. The role involves a mix of wellness care, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, internal medicine, and client consultations, along with providing guidance to support staff and ensuring best clinical practices are maintained.
This opportunity is best suited to an experienced DVM who is comfortable practicing independently and taking on leadership responsibilities.

Practice Details
The hospital is fully equipped to provide excellent veterinary care and offers a wide range of services including primary care, behaviour consultations, dermatology, diagnostics, euthanasia, dentistry, senior pet care, surgery, and wellness services. The practice can also provide urgent care services during times of crisis, allowing the team to support patients when they need it most.

Team
The practice currently has one practicing DVM supported by a fantastic and dedicated team of support staff who work collaboratively to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent patient care. The environment is supportive and focused on delivering compassionate veterinary services.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
