Associate Veterinarian

An independently owned, well established veterinary hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its collaborative and highly supported team. Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and is closed on Sundays, with no on call or after hours requirements. Full time veterinarians typically work 3 to 4 days per week, at least 30 hours, with flexible scheduling tailored to individual preferences. Most doctors participate in one rotating Saturday per month, and daily structure can be customized, including optional surgery days and the ability to incorporate urgent care appointments if desired.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive small animal care for dogs and cats, including wellness exams, diagnostics, medical case management, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. Each veterinarian has the flexibility to shape their caseload and schedule, with the option to perform surgeries, see urgent care cases, or focus more heavily on general practice. Appointment lengths are typically 20 to 30 minutes, supported by a highly efficient team, allowing for thorough and thoughtful patient care. The role also involves building strong client relationships, collaborating with colleagues on case discussions, and contributing to a positive and supportive clinical environment.

Practice Details
This newly renovated, near 10000 sq ft facility is equipped with advanced technology including digital radiography, dental x ray, ultrasound, in house laboratories, Ligasure, paperless records, AI transcription, and AI assisted radiograph interpretation. The hospital features 11 exam rooms and incorporates fear free techniques into patient care. A standout feature of the practice is its exceptional support staff ratio, with approximately 2 to 3 technicians and 5 to 6 total support staff per doctor per day, enabling efficient workflows and strong production potential. The practice offers both primary and secondary care services, with access to nearby specialty hospitals for referral support.

Team
The hospital currently has 5 veterinarians supported by a team of approximately 35 staff members, creating a highly collaborative and well resourced environment. With over 50 years of combined veterinary experience, doctors regularly discuss cases and support one another through an open door, team oriented approach. The practice offers a hybrid mentorship model, combining structured onboarding with ongoing collaboration, making it an excellent fit for both new graduates and experienced clinicians.
