Underground Laborer

Couey’s CATV is seeking an Underground Laborer to join our growing team. This role is critical
in supporting our underground utility construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation of underground utilities such as fiber optic and coaxial cable.
Dig trenches manually or with mechanical tools.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
Support directional drill operators and locators with setup, operation, and clean-up.
Identify and avoid existing underground utilities using locating equipment and maps.
Restore job sites to original condition after work is completed, including backfilling and
reseeding.
Operate small machinery, hand tools, and other construction equipment safely.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and vehicles.
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Assist with traffic control measures and flagging as required.
Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or delays to supervisors immediately.
Work in varying weather and soil conditions and maintain physical stamina throughout
shifts.
Comply with all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.

Requirements
Must be able to pass a DOT physical
Must pass a pre-employment and ongoing drug screening
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
