Senior Structural Analysis Engineer
What You'll Do
- Perform stress analysis of metallic and composite structural components, assemblies and systems to provide inputs to the design and ensure structural integrity.
- Author, review and approve analysis documentation.
- Create and/or utilize Finite Element Models (FEM).
- Perform Durability and Damage Tolerance (DADT) assessments.
- Review and approve engineering definition for release in the product lifecycle system (PLM).
- Author, review and approve structural test plans and reports.
- Compare structural test results to analytical models (test vs Finite Element Model).
- Develop stress analysis tools and methodologies.
- Support multi-disciplinary configuration development and trade studies.
- Interface with materials & processes, structural test laboratories, flight test, manufacturing and customers/regulation authorities.
- Review, guide and support programs for new, supplemental and experimental certification under FAR Part 23 sub part C & D.
- Mentor junior team members.
Who You Are
Education
- S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience (or 2+ with M.S.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with airframe static and fatigue stress analysis for both composite and metallic structures
- Knowledge of industry standard classical analysis methods
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis methods (FEMAP experience is a plus)
- Experience authoring stress notes and stress reports
- Experience supporting disposition of non-conformances
- Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6/3DX and ENOVIA V5/V6/3DX
- Knowledge of typical airframe structural design criteria
- Knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification requirements and processes

Structural Design Senior Engineer
What You'll Do
- Mature structural designs throughout the detailed design phase and release part and assembly drawings in Otto PLM systems.
- Manage multiple parts and/or assemblies within a given aircraft zone.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within the Otto Structures, Systems, and Manufacturing teams.
- Individually prioritize design tasks and delegate to junior engineers.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate structural interfaces with adjacent systems and structures.
- Support prototype vehicle development while understanding the variations in respective design and manufacturing methodologies from production designs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of PLM tools by providing technical feedback to the Otto Engineering team.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship of junior engineers.
Who You Are
Education
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience (or 2+ with M.S.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in fixed wing aircraft, structural design, and systems integration
- Experience of composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in aircraft level development programs
- Strong Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6/3DX and ENOVIA V5/V6/3DX
- Knowledge of typical airframe structural design criteria
- Knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification requirements and processes

Benefits
Paid Holidays: All full-time employees will receive 8 paid holidays per year. Full-time non-exempt employees receive an extra floater holiday per year.
Paid Sick time: All full-time and part-time employees will receive 40 sick hours per year or minimum sick time required by the state.
