Job Summary
Job Description
HTI is hiring Tool Design Engineer for a Fast Growing Client in Laurens, SC. The Tool Design Engineer designs, develops, and maintains manufacturing tools like jigs, dies, molds, and fixtures, using SolidWorks software to create detailed drawings, collaborating with production teams, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring tools meet specs for efficiency and quality. This position will need skills in GD&T, problem-solving, and material science.
Pay is starting at $95,000 Per Year depending on experience. Comprehensive Benefits Package Provided.
What You Will DoEstimate tooling and ability to press or form parts
Able to modify, design & develop tool designs for the manufacturing process
Provide pressing department with setup specifications
Troubleshoot tooling and pressing problems
Assist die shop with CNC programming
Collaborate with production, qualify and other engineering team members to define and resolve issues with design requirements
Able to prepare technical drawings, blueprints, specifications and necessary maintenance procedures to ensure viable production is met
Able to evaluate and select materials, components, and supplies for tooling needs
Oversee testing process, including the installation, setup, and testing of tools while maintaining analytical data
Recommend changes which would make parts more formable
Recommend press which is best suited for part
Design tooling for compacting, isostatic, extrusion, injection mold, and stamping presses
Prepare dressing department specifications which include volume of green part and green dimensions
Experience with CNC programming and operation
Able to engage with internal and external customers in a professional manner
Automotive supplier experience and/or training preferred
Mechanical Engineering Degree
3-5 years' experience with tool and die engineering processes
Working knowledge of Manufacturing and reporting
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Kan Ban
Proficiency with SolidWorks
Strong understanding of GD&T
Familiar with ISO 9001
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
