We're currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager located in Baltimore, MD .
Position Overview:
The Project Manager (PM) will serve as the primary leader responsible for the overall management, coordination, and delivery of airport construction management and inspection services. The PM acts as the direct point of contact between the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) and the Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) team. This individual will oversee all aspects of project administration, team management, resource allocation, and performance oversight to ensure the successful execution of airport infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
The Project Manager must be an employee of the prime Offeror and shall be available to work on site as required to effectively manage the project and support program objectives.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related technical field.
Preferred Certifications:
- Maryland Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
or
- Registered Architect (AIA)
or
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
or
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Professional registration in the State of Maryland is desirable but not required.
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in airport construction after receipt of PE or AIA certification
or
- Minimum of 15 years of airport construction experience after receiving CCM certification
- Demonstrated experience managing complex aviation infrastructure projects at commercial service airports is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing capital improvement programs at large hub or medium hub commercial airports
- Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and airport construction standards
Experience managing projects in active airfield and terminal environments
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Management
Provide overall leadership and direction for the Construction Management and Inspection team. Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with contract requirements, schedule commitments, and budget constraints. - Client Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact between the Maryland Aviation Administration and the CMI team. Maintain clear communication with airport leadership, project stakeholders, consultants, and contractors. - Contract Administration
Manage all aspects of contract administration including project reporting, compliance with contractual obligations, documentation management, and coordination with MAA representatives. - Team Management
Direct and supervise project staff including construction managers, inspectors, schedulers, project controls personnel, and technical specialists. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and performance standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. - Resource Allocation
Maintain authority to allocate project resources as necessary to meet schedule, budget, and operational constraints. Ensure project teams are appropriately staffed and supported to deliver project objectives. - Construction Oversight
Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design documents, safety requirements, FAA regulations, and airport operational constraints. - Schedule and Budget Monitoring
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure timely completion of project milestones. Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions when necessary. - Quality Assurance
Ensure that all construction activities meet applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. - Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with airport operations, airline representatives, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure construction activities are properly integrated with airport operations. - Reporting and Documentation
Prepare and deliver regular progress reports, risk assessments, and executive level briefings for the Maryland Aviation Administration.
Salary:
48.00/hr
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
