Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join their well-established emergency and after-hours small animal practice. This role focuses exclusively on emergency and urgent care medicine, providing critical support to companion animals when they need it most. The hospital treats small animal patients and has served as the only dedicated emergency veterinary hospital in the community for nearly two decades, delivering compassionate, high-level care in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Friday from 6:00pm to 7:00am, and weekends from 12:00pm Saturday through 7:00am Monday. This is a part-time position within an overnight and weekend emergency schedule. Flexible scheduling is offered to support work-life balance within the demands of emergency medicine.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will provide emergency examinations and urgent care, diagnose and manage critical and life-threatening conditions, and perform emergency surgical procedures. Responsibilities include managing complex surgical cases such as urethral obstructions, gastric dilation-volvulus, pyometra, Caesarian-sections, gastrointestinal foreign body removal, splenectomy, traumatic lacerations, proptosed eyes, and fish hook removals. The role also involves utilizing in-house diagnostics, interpreting laboratory results, and delivering timely medical and surgical interventions in high-pressure situations. Experience in emergency medicine is preferred, though new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is a compassionate team player and strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Practice Details
This emergency hospital is equipped with advanced digital and surgical technology, including state-of-the-art digital radiology with tele-radiology interpretation, advanced ultrasound technology, an in-house diagnostic laboratory, and comprehensive surgical facilities with an isolation ward. Diagnostic services include blood smears, complete blood counts, cytology, fecal examinations, fine needle aspirates, serum chemistry, urinalysis and urine sediment exams, and viral testing such as Parvovirus and FELV/FIV. The hospital provides emergency examinations, oxygen therapy, urgent care, surgery, and comprehensive in-house diagnostics, supporting high-quality emergency care for small animal patients.

Team
The team includes three DVMs working within a collaborative emergency environment. The culture emphasizes compassion, teamwork, and strong communication, creating a supportive atmosphere where veterinarians work closely together to deliver exceptional emergency care to their community.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
