This role is focused on embedded hardware architecture and multi-layer PCB design for production products. The engineer in this position will take ownership of hardware development from concept through manufacturing release, including board bring-up, validation, and manufacturing support.
Join us to contribute to exciting projects that push technological boundaries and enhance user experiences through meticulous design, analysis, and manufacturing collaboration.
Position Overview
The Embedded Hardware Design Engineer transforms product concepts into manufacturable embedded hardware solutions.
This position owns hardware development from schematic through production, including PCB architecture, board bring-up, validation, and manufacturing support. The role focuses primarily on embedded hardware design, with embedded C/C++ firmware developed as needed to support board bring-up, validation, and hardware integration.
This is an on-site role based in Carlisle, PA. Relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates.
What You Will Own
- Architecture, schematic capture, and multi-layer PCB layout for production embedded hardware
- Component selection and full bill-of-materials ownership
- PCB stack-up decisions and signal integrity considerations
- Gerber file generation and release to manufacturing
- Board bring-up, validation, and hardware debugging
- RF validation using spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
- Development of hardware validation firmware and test routines used during board bring-up
- Design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) improvements
- Documentation, including schematics, architecture diagrams, and test procedures
- Collaboration with manufacturing partners during prototype and production builds
- Development of embedded C/C++ firmware required for board bring-up, testing, and hardware validation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) with 4+ years of professional hardware product development experience
(Associate’s degree with 6+ years of industry hardware experience also considered4+ years of hands-on embedded hardware design experience

Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, or similar)
Experience generating Gerber files and managing BOMs
Experience working with microcontrollers in embedded hardware designs
Working knowledge of embedded C used for hardware bring-up, validation, and microcontroller integration
Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF test equipment
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing products for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT)
Familiarity with FCC or UL compliance testing
Experience working with RF-based embedded hardware systems
Knowledge of CATV, DOCSIS, or broadband distribution systems
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Successful Candidates Will Have
Personally owned embedded hardware designs from schematic and PCB layout through prototype bring-up and manufacturing release.
Performed board bring-up and hardware debugging independently
