Commercial HVAC Lead Installer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial HVAC Lead Installer to oversee and perform the installation of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The Lead Installer will manage installation crews, ensure projects are completed on time and within specifications, and maintain high standards of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise HVAC installation teams on commercial job sites

  • Install commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, chillers, boilers, VRF systems, air handlers, VAV boxes, and ductwork

  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications

  • Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and subcontractors

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards

  • Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning

  • Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary field adjustments

  • Maintain accurate job documentation and material tracking

  • Train and mentor apprentice and junior installers

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience

  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred

  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and components

  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical schematics

  • Experience with brazing, refrigerant piping, duct installation, and equipment rigging

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • EPA 608 Certification (preferred)

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred)
