Sr. Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:

Handles end-to-end payroll processing, and related accounting tasks reporting to the Controller at our growing company. Ensures accurate wage calculations, tax compliance, and benefit reconciliations. Collaborates with HR, supports audits, maintains confidential records, and manages payroll system issues.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll (Union / Non-Union) accurately and on time

• Adds new-hire staff information into payroll system

• Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws

• Coordinate payroll changes (hires, terminations, salary adjustments)

• Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journal entries and reports

• Respond to employee payroll inquiries

• Manage year-end reporting (W-2s) and tax filings

• Support payroll audits and resolve discrepancies

• Collaborate with HR and external vendors

• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data

Key Requirements:

• Construction payroll (Union / Non-Union) preferred

• 5+ years payroll experience preferred

• Knowledge of payroll laws & system conversions

• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality

Salary: $72-97k depending on experience
