We are seeking a strategic Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and help build a scalable financial infrastructure that supports rapid growth and complex real estate development projects.

Position Summary
The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across development projects, construction accounting, and corporate operations. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and ensure financial discipline as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and project accounting
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Real Estate Development Accounting
- Oversee accounting for land acquisition, development costs, and construction projects
- Track project budgets, cost allocations, and capitalization of development expenses
- Support financial reporting related to large-scale master-planned communities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare financial reports for executive leadership and investors
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for development projects
- Provide insights on project profitability and financial performance
Audit & Compliance
- Lead external audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures
Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve financial systems and accounting processes to support company growth
- Implement automation and ERP tools where appropriate
Leadership
- Lead and develop the accounting team
- Partner with finance, development, and operations teams to support business initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- CPA designation is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years accounting experience
- 5+ years leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
Preferred:
- Real estate development or construction accounting experience
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm, also preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, or Yardi
- Experience supporting high-growth or private companies
