Controller

Numbers matter, but people, systems, and momentum matter more.

We’re looking for a Controller who can lead with clarity, build smart processes, and bring energy to the accounting function. This is not a “keep the lights on” role. It’s a chance to shape how accounting works, mentor a talented team, and help drive the business forward while staying true to our culture and values.

What You’ll Own:

• Be the steady financial compass leading the Accounting and AP teams with confidence, collaboration, and accountability
• Turn property financials into a well-oiled machine: accurate, timely, and delivered when promised
• Build and protect strong accounting controls that reduce risk and keep surprises off the balance sheet
• Modernize workflows by embracing technology and smarter systems (less friction, more efficiency)
• Partner closely with Operations and Admin teams to solve problems, streamline processes, and improve communication
• Keep a pulse on cash flow, reserves, reimbursables, and banking activity, raising flags before issues become fires
• Step in when needed to support complex accounting matters, transitions, or tight deadlines

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

• Know GAAP inside and out and can explain it without putting people to sleep
• Enjoy mentoring, coaching, and building strong teams
• Are comfortable talking directly with clients and leadership on complex financial topics
• Love improving systems and aren’t afraid of change or new tech
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-entity or multi-property accounting operations.
• Real Estate Accounting Experience a Plus (Yardi, Entrata)
