Label Slitting Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Label Slitting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting equipment used to cut large rolls of label stock into finished rolls according to customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong focus on quality and safety. Must be reliable and able to perform in a fast-paced high volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate label slitting machines according to work orders and specifications
• Load and unload rolls of label material safely and efficiently
• Adjust blades, tension, spacing, and machine settings to ensure accurate slitting
• Monitor machine operation during production to maintain quality and minimize waste
• Inspect finished rolls for defects such as incorrect width, edge quality, or misalignment
• Measure and verify slit widths, roll counts, and core sizes per job requirements
• Troubleshoot basic machine issues and report mechanical problems to maintenance
• Complete production paperwork, job tickets, and quality records accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout as required

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience operating slitting, converting, or similar industrial machinery preferred
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand tools and measuring devices
• Ability to read work orders, job specifications, and safety instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and stand for extended periods

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in label converting, printing, or packaging environments
• Familiarity with pressure-sensitive labels, films, foils, or paper substrates
• Forklift or pallet jack experience (certification a plus)
• Basic computer or touchscreen machine interface skills

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 1st & 2nd Shift Available
