Job Description
The Kitchen Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all kitchen equipment and machinery in a hotel or restaurant setting. This role ensures the smooth operation of all kitchen appliances and systems, providing a safe and functional environment for kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
- Operate and maintain low-pressure boilers for the hot water system.
- Operate and maintain additional vessels as needed for hot water, kitchen steam, and air conditioning systems.
- Assist mechanics and external contractors with the repair of hotel property and equipment.
- Repair and maintain HVAC systems and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Repair and maintain the swimming pool and related pool equipment.
- Complete all assigned work orders and daily tasks promptly.
- Receive instructions for house calls via radio.
- Possess a thorough understanding of Omni’s fire alarm procedures and emergency protocols.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of Omni hotel rules and regulations.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Pay Range: $29.00- $31.00 per hour.
- Previous maintenance experience required; hotel experience and training preferred.
- 2 years minimum of hotel and/or commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
- 1 year of commercial kitchen experience preferred; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.
- Previous experience responding to emergency situations is required.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, computer proficiency, and a focus on guest satisfaction are essential.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to crawl for short distances.
- Ability to bend, reach overhead, squat, and kneel for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use step stools and ladders.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
- Must have flexible availability to work weekends and holidays.
