This role entails a dynamic production responsibility of receiving donations and preparing them for sale. The duties encompass sorting, tagging, pricing, and readying merchandise for display on the sales floor. The position demands the capacity to stand for prolonged periods, as well as lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds while managing a substantial inventory volume. Maintaining order in the stockroom, upholding quality control standards, and adhering to safety protocols are imperative for success in this role.
The Remarkable Responsibilities You Will Undertake
- Sort, evaluate, and examine donations (textiles, housewares, electronics, shoes, and accessories) for quality and condition.
- Tag and price merchandise in accordance with company standards, meeting hourly production targets.
- Prepare items on rolling racks and carts for transportation to the sales floor, ensuring compliance with company requirements for full fixtures.
- Organize and segregate items for e-commerce and clearance departments, meticulously labeling all products.
- Adhere to safety protocols and operational guidelines to uphold a clean and secure work environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer and donor service, including receiving donations, issuing receipts, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the donation area when necessary.
- Advance Goodwill's mission by optimizing efficiency and productivity in daily tasks.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned to support the store team and broader organizational objectives.
Activities are subject to change or addition to meet business requirements with management approval.
Our Essential Requirements
- 1 year of Retail or Customer Service Experience preferred.
- Prior Stock experience mandatory.
- High School Diploma, equivalent, or a blend of education and experience necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to surpass individual and store performance targets.
- Proven capability to cultivate enduring relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Adaptability and engagement with diverse customer profiles.
- Effective communication skills with customers, sales leadership team, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills and aptitude to function effectively within a team.
- Receptiveness to feedback and willingness to act accordingly.
- Precision and attention to detail essential.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule based on business demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
