Sanitation Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize workforce activities based on production schedules, assigning sanitation duties accordingly.
• Oversee and coordinate sanitation team operations to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
• Verify completion and effectiveness of sanitation processes.
• Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to sanitation team members to enhance performance and compliance.
• Ensure availability of appropriate tools, equipment, and resources required for sanitation tasks.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices within the sanitation team.
• Communicate with Plant Management regarding equipment or resource needs to improve sanitation efficiency.
• Review and maintain sanitation programs, policies, and documentation to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Complete and demonstrate proficiency in all required FSQA, safety, and job-specific training.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Use cleaning chemicals correctly in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
• Accurately read, interpret, and complete required documentation and records.
• Perform and/or verify post-cleaning inspections to ensure equipment is production-ready.
• Conduct chemical concentration testing and ensure proper usage levels.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and stock levels of sanitation supplies.
• Validate and verify cleaning procedures and pest control programs.
• Maintain accurate sanitation logs, reports, and documentation.
• Support internal, third-party, and customer audits.
• Investigate sanitation deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment disassembly when required.
• Monitor Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems to ensure proper functionality.
• Assist in developing and maintaining effective SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
• Verify sanitation effectiveness using ATP testing, pH checks, and visual inspections.
• Train team members and evaluate competency levels.
• Serve as an alternate member of the Food Safety team.
• Identify, report, and take corrective action to prevent food safety, quality, and compliance issues.
• Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality Manual and compliance with GFSI and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop team members.
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate with employees across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Pest Applicator License preferred.
