Introduction
Our client is a full-service, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital located in Hillsville, Virginia, seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their established and supportive team. The practice provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care for dogs and cats, combining progressive, evidence-based medicine with compassionate, community-focused service. This role is well suited to both experienced veterinarians and those earlier in their careers who are looking to practice high-quality medicine in a welcoming, well-equipped environment.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and is closed on Sundays. This is a full-time position offering a consistent schedule with an excellent work-life balance. There are no after-hours or on-call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on patient care during regular clinic hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will provide high-quality general practice care across a varied small animal caseload. Your responsibilities will include wellness and preventive care, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, diagnostics, and client education. You will work closely with a collaborative veterinary team, with opportunities for mentorship, case collaboration, and ongoing professional development to help you continue to grow and refine your clinical skills.

Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical technology to support a broad range of services. The practice offers wellness and preventive care, internal medicine, dermatology, surgery, reproduction, allergy management, diagnostics, behavioral consultations, senior pet care, and end-of-life services. The hospital is known for its welcoming atmosphere, personalized approach to care, and strong connection to the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountain community.

Team
You will join a team of three veterinarians, supported by a dedicated and experienced group of veterinary technicians, assistants, and client care staff. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on communication, teamwork, and delivering exceptional patient and client care.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
