Our client is a full-service animal hospital in Orlando, Florida, hiring a full-time Medical Director Veterinarian to lead a well-established practice providing high-quality veterinary care and luxury boarding services. The hospital delivers comprehensive care for companion animals and is seeking an experienced veterinary leader to guide medical standards, mentor clinicians, and support the continued growth of the practice.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and Sunday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This is a full-time position. Specific doctor scheduling, after-hours, or on-call requirements are to be discussed with the practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director Veterinarian is responsible for providing strong medical leadership while continuing to see patients and practice clinical medicine. Core responsibilities include maintaining high standards of progressive veterinary care, overseeing medical protocols and quality of care, mentoring and coaching associate veterinarians, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The role includes setting medical policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading doctor meetings, reviewing medical records for accuracy, managing controlled drugs, and supporting the resolution of patient care concerns, client issues, and referral partner matters. The Medical Director partners with hospital leadership on budgeting, equipment planning, inventory decisions, and overall practice operations, while also leading DVM recruitment efforts and serving as a mentor and role model for the veterinary team. This position is open to experienced veterinarians only.

This AAHA-accredited hospital has served its community since 1979 and is known for its commitment to excellence in patient care and a strong Culture of Care. The 10,000 square foot facility includes eight exam rooms, spacious treatment and surgical suites, advanced dentistry with dental radiographs for every cleaning, state-of-the-art in-house laboratory equipment, a luxury boarding facility, and a grooming salon. Services offered include preventive and restorative dental care, internal medicine, senior pet care, cold laser therapy, and comprehensive wellness services. The practice culture emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and maintaining high medical standards while supporting team wellbeing and professional growth.
Team
The hospital is currently supported by two DVMs and a great support team, with a strong technician-to-doctor ratio that allows veterinarians to focus on delivering high-quality medicine. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, with a passion for teaching veterinary students and newly graduated doctors.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
