Introduction
Our client is a full-service veterinary practice in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, hiring a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join a long-established, community-focused clinic. The practice has served the local area for nearly four decades and is committed to delivering compassionate, progressive veterinary care while fostering strong relationships with clients and their pets.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, and Wednesday from 8:00am to 12:00pm. This can be a full-time or part-time position. Weekend, after-hours, or on-call requirements are to be discussed with the practice.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will examine, diagnose, and treat patients with compassion and confidence, providing high-quality medical and surgical care. Clinical responsibilities include performing surgeries, prescribing treatments, delivering preventive care, and educating pet owners on wellness and long-term health plans. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring adherence to veterinary laws, ethics, and clinic policies. This position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates who are enthusiastic about collaborative medicine, dentistry, surgery, and client education.
Practice Details
This well-established practice blends a strong legacy of community service with a progressive, forward-thinking approach to medicine. The clinic is equipped with modern technology including digital radiography, digital dental radiography, an electrosurgical unit, therapeutic laser, surgical suction, and a full in-house laboratory suite with CBC, chemistry analyzers, urinalysis, and sediment capabilities. Services offered include comprehensive medical care, surgical services, wellness and vaccination programs, and dental care. The practice culture is team-oriented, supportive, and growth-focused, with an emphasis on collaboration, professional development, and high standards of patient care.
Team
The hospital is supported by a team of two DVMs and a great tenured support staff. The environment is close-knit and collaborative, with skilled technicians playing an integral role in daily operations and ongoing patient care.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
