Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Management team in overseeing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role focuses on project coordination, documentation, scheduling support, subcontractor communication, and administrative tasks. The Assistant Project Manager works collaboratively with Project Managers and estimators to support efficient project execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day coordination of assigned construction projects.
  • Assist with communication between owners, engineers, field supervision, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Support collaboration with estimators during preconstruction, including bid reviews and document coordination.
  • Maintain construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, approvals, and related project documentation.
  • Assist with material procurement activities, including submittals and delivery tracking.
  • Support schedule updates and two-week look-ahead planning.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate red-line and as-built drawings.
  • Help identify and communicate potential project risks and issues.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of scheduling software preferred.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites and work extended hours as required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily office-based with periodic travel to construction jobsites for meetings, inspections, and coordination. Jobsite conditions may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, building materials, and construction dust. Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
