Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents. This role focuses on project coordination, documentation, scheduling, subcontractor management, and communication, while working collaboratively with estimators to support preconstruction and pricing activities. The Project Manager serves as a key point of contact between owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day execution of assigned construction projects from award through closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Coordinate the flow of information among all project stakeholders to support timely decisions.
- Collaborate with estimators during preconstruction to review scopes, schedules, constructability, and bid clarifications.
- Support subcontractor coordination, bid review support, and transition from estimating to execution.
- Maintain current and historical construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and approvals.
- Coordinate material procurement activities, including purchase order review and delivery tracking.
- Maintain and update project schedules, including progress tracking and two-week look-ahead planning.
- Ensure accurate red-line and as-built drawings are maintained throughout the project.
- Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving potential risks related to scope, schedule, materials, permits, and jobsite conditions.
Qualifications
- Experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction document management systems.
- Working knowledge of scheduling software preferred.
- Ability to travel to jobsites and work extended hours as required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is primarily office-based with periodic travel to construction jobsites for meetings, inspections, and coordination. Jobsite conditions may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, building materials, and construction dust. Physical requirements include prolonged sitting, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
